The forces of Chaos had moved to secure the area quickly. Headed by the nefarious Lord Abraxas, they had dug in around the husk of one of their destroyed vehicules. They resisted numerous assaults led by the brave brother Dorian and his sturdy battle brothers. Though the forces of Chaos were thinned by the chain swords and bolters of the Black Templars, the forces of the Eternal Emperor were forced to strategically withdraw after suffering numerous casualties, but not before critically wounding Abraxas.
We shall have revenge!
Abraxas's Battle Report:
Lord Abraxas had brought two squads of his finest marines with him in order to secure a crippled vehicle containing vital information on the deployment of Chaos forces in the regions. Yet Once he neared his objective, he was faced with an opposing force of the false Emperor. He charged the objective, thinking of gaining a quick victory, while his other squad covered him. Yet the loyalist suprised him in their zeal and soon he was locked in close combat with their leader, brother Dorian. Both were crically wounded, and finally the first loyalist squad was reduced to but one man. Meanwhile the second squad was not faring well, taking multiple losses due to a plasma gun and a rocket launcher, but refusing to falter they managed to take out two loyalist. With so many losses the Black Templar were forced to withdraw with the body of their leader, thus securing the victory for Lord Abraxas.

Having now secured the Rhino and recovered from his wounds, Lord Abraxas braces for a counter-attack from the Black Templar. It seems that Dorian has recovered, but Abraxas is undaunted. Splitting his force in two, he takes cover behind the wrecked vehicle with a squad near him, while the other squads moves in from the side. Yet Dorian and his foul loyalists intercept and annihilate the squad. Meanwhile, Dorian's second squad is slowly whittled down, mostly by a heavy bolter. Finally, as Dorian and his squad try to take cover, the heavy bolter cut them down forcing them in a desperate charge against the mighty Lord Abraxas who cuts down two loyalist scum. Dorian is next, and fall under many blows.
"We need more heavy bolters!"

Brother Dorian's Battle Report:
The dawn of a new day finally brings victory to the Black Templars of Brother Dorian. After apothecaries treated his severe injuries, Brother Dorian rallied his men to the cries "To Admit Defeat is to Blaspheme Against the Emperor!"
The forces of Chaos were totally unprepared for the zealous crusaders' counter-attack, and the blasted plain was scoured of the traitor scum! Brother Dorian himself forced Lord Abraxas to retreat, sending his forces into disarray.
No Pity! No Fear! No Remorse! For the Emperor!
Abraxas's Battle Report:
The unvanquished Lord Abraxas was finally defeated at the hands of his nemesis Dorian. After receving incredible amounts of fire, the loyalists lost a squad, but Dorian leading his second squad engaged Abraxas and his finest in melee. The great lord, still under the shock of his own caused by the backfire of his weapon was struck down, only to be dragged away by members of his surviving squad.
"The day is lost, but the fight is far from over!"

Abraxas's Battle Report:
After losing the databank to the loyalist forces of brother Dorian, Lord Abraxas and his elite forces engaged the loyalist forces in hopes of crushing them and recovering the databank. THe battle was pitched and although Abraxas' Legion fought well, the day went to the loyalists, again.
Brother Dorian's Battle Report:
The whirling red clouds of the warp storm loomed ominously on the horizon. Dorian had ordered a single battle brother to deliver the databank to the Tisisphone commanders while he mustered his remaining men to stall the traitor forces. This would be a battle of attrition, and the space marines had to weather the storms of chaos if they were to ensure the safety of the information they had just recovered.
The forces of Abraxas came in a huge wave. Rounds after rounds of bolter and plasma cut through the loyalist, only spurring their charge onward. The terrain was disadvantageous to the courageous templars, and they lost many battle brothers in the charge. When the melee was finally joined, the traitor forces were ready and using their fel powers, slew many more battle brothers. Abraxas bested Dorian in single combat and the valiant space marines were forced to retreat from the battlefield to tend to their wounds, but the time they had bought the envoy was enough to put him out of reach for the forces of Chaos. This victory was slim, but it was victory nonetheless.
There is nothing to fear but failure.

Brother Dorian's Battle Report:
After numerrous squirmishes with the forces of Lord Abraxas, the Black Templars under brother Dorian had succeeded in establishing a small control zone upon the Cithaeron Plain. However, just as things seemed to be going in the loyalists favor, an urgent distress message reached them: an imperial shuttle destined to Hive Tisisphone with priority tactical information concerning imperial troop positions had been shot down by wayward orkish rokkit fire and was crash landing only a few miles from the last know position of Abraxas' forces.
Determined not to give such a precious advantage to the forces of chaos, Brother Dorian scrambled his forces and rushed to the crash site. Though no survivors were left, Dorian ordered his men to scour the debris and gather the indestructible data disks. Traitors, of course, were right on time to oppose the Emperor's warriors.
The traitors laid down a torrent of fire from the cover of the debris, and Dorian's lack of heavy weapons saw the battle brothers sorely pressed in the first few moves of the battle. But when the Black Templars closed in assault range, the roar of the meltaguns and the battle cries of valorous space marines drowned the noise of the chaos guns and the winds of battle turned in favor of the Emperor's warriors. The forces of chaos were quickly defeated and sent packing home, Abraxas severly wounded.
Though Dorian had lost many good battle brethren, he had secured the data disks and cleansed the battleground of those who would defy the Golden Throne.
Life is the Emperor's currency, spend it well.

Here is the Space Marine conclusion for the Medusa V crusade:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the length and breadth of the Imperium, the Angels of Death journeyed to Medusa V to deliver the holy vengeance of the Emperor upon the heretics and the aliens who assailed that doomed world. They brought with them all the righteous fury that the Adeptus Astartes are famed for, and none could stand before their wrath.
In the deep snow of Articus, the Iron Snakes battled the ravening Tyranids, stained the snow with thick black ichor, and broke the back of the xenos invasion with holy bolter and flamer.
In the mangrove swamps beside the Armida Sea, Dark Angels and Crimson Furies Space Marines fought a bloody war among the shattered trunks of the immense, dark trees – first against the Kroot and later the cursed traitors of the Death Guard.
In the arid wasteland of The Mission, the Imperial Fists battled their ancient enemies, the Iron Warriors, in a brutal and bitter battle that forced the scions of Perturabo to a fruitless standstill.
At Hydra’s Tooth, the villainous butchering of Chaplain Agrippus was avenged when the mighty Egil Ironwolf drove off the abominable traitor Lucius. Ironwolf saved the grievously wounded Inqisitor Baptiste from Fulgrim’s Champion and put the vile Emperor’s Children to flight.
In Verdia, the Blood Angels unleashed their wrath upon the greenskins in an explosion of violence. Hundreds of red-armoured sons of Sanguinius later emerged from the valleys and hills of that region, their armour battered, but their mission accomplished.
The Black Templars, true to their creed, launched a series of daring attacks throughout Tisiphone to cripple Nazdreg’s Hulk and scattered all before them on the slopes of the mountains.
Sybilla Tertius saw warriors from myriad Chapters battling through the lower hive, hunting down Tyranid beasts and purging the taint of Chaos. Even when much of the city was lost, the Astartes held firm beside the Imperial Guard to allow refugees to flee the city as the Space Marines honoured their Primarchs in battle.
Greatest of all were the battles in Euryales Hive, where Captain Sicarius, the Hero of Medusa, valiantly held back the combined forces of the Traitor Legions. Without number are the minions of the Dark gods who died by his hand, and beyond compare was the leadership and courage he showed there.
In millennia to come, when the scribes of the Imperium take stock of Medusa V, they will recall the great victory won there. The records will speak of a triumph over Chaos and the xenos filth – but most of all, they will speak of the valour of the Space Marines, the Champions of Humanity.

Brothers,
Leading the combined forces of the Adeptus Astartes on Medusa V has been a singular honour. In the name of the Emperor and our Primarchs, we have denied this planet to the arch-enemy and crushed the foes of Mankind.
Our losses have been grievous and at times hard to bear, but through it all, we have fought with the skill and dedication for which we Adeptus Astartes are known.
Already our Astropaths have received word that we are needed elsewhere, so our extended brotherhood must now part ways.
Courage and honour, my brothers – for the glory of our Primarchs and the Emperor of Mankind.
Cato Sicarius
