I though we might perhaps discuss of the terms proposed by the Romans and ATPG's counterproposal.
One point I want to make clear, Georgia does not want territory and so I don't mind giving back Trebizond.
Also, of all that has been said, I think that the demands of the Romans regarding Armenia are impossible to accept. The hittites were there well before the romans, as it is the case for countless other peoples, so how come the Romans are still claiming its there ancestral land? This is far fetched at best.
Nervertheless, if we want peace, some concessions have to be made. I agree with your strong starting position ATPG, but we cannot realistically expect the Romans to abandon claims to their pre-war territories.
These are my initial thoughs only and I hope we can all discuss a suitable peace.

Why give up Trebizond ? As long as it stays in coalition hands. You might just aswell keep it. Should be useful once the Kyppies come.

I seriously doubt the Romans will cave to us keeping one of their initial settlements. I mean, they actually want to keep Ikonion ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) ... I do hope these peace talks will actually be productive.

We must ask the most at the start of the negociations as we are now in a strong position (except maybe for ATPG if the Romans keep on coming)
We should be able to take two (Trebizond and Sinop) or three (with Adana thrown in) of their territories, dealing quite a blow to their economy, the more so if ATPG succeeds in striking deep into Roman lands.
Let us see what their answers will be.
I would rather Trebizond be made Armenian than given back to the Romans.
OOC : two questions :
1 How do you make the most recent posts appear first in these forums ?
2 Why doesn't the main page show the Brken Crescent forum for me ? I had to go through the most recent posts to even find this thread...

I understand the idea of starting with strong demands, the ERE did the same thing pretty much. I'm interested in what concessions you and ATPG are ready to make in exchange for the ERE to abandon claim on Ikonion and all off Cilicia.
As for the forum, since Banzai Kamikaze and Lemongate are both members here (even though they don't come anymore) I've hidden the Broken Crescent section to make it only available through the URL I gave ATPG. The fact that it's hidden is also responsible for the most recent post not showing on the main page.

Not exactly the terms I was expecting...
Oh well, Georgia will pay the Turks 2000 florins as soon as we can (probably in increments of 500).
Since we sympathize with our Armenia brothers who did not receive much out of this arrangement, we will still gift them the city of Van once it is conquered. (Within a year)

I mean no disrespect to our Armenian friends, but wouldn't Van be the ideal place to re-establish the Rajputs, should they be defeated and driven out of their lands. It is surrounded by mountains and the only route to the city is a river crossing. It would also place them safely within Coalition lands. Besides, a castle this far west would be totally worthless to our Hindu brothers. I don't think there are any cities under Seljuk control that are better suited, but I will listen to any suggestions.
(OOC: Castles out of your AoR are practically useless, and are best converted to cities. Therfor I think Van would be the ideal place for Rajput refugees, in the event that the outcome of the Ghorid's attack is the feared and predicted one.)

Gerogia would have no problem offering Van to the Rajput, but since we promised it to our Armenian brothers, we will let them decide.

Congratulations on the peace agreement in the west! I will be content with any offer. Is there an Omani diplomat near Baghdad? I would be happy to offer him my coastal cities; otherwise I'll trade them to whomever or just fight them out if that's preferred.

Well for an offer like that, I can get one to Baghdad! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) I will have to mull this over, however. I am truly sorry, but Oman is in no position to fight, and getting the Ghorids more angry with me (we are already technically at war) is not an option if I want to survive.

If the situation is as bad as Ramses says it is, that might work out well. EF probably doesn't know how weak deguerra is, and while technically they're at war, they haven't fought any battles. For all he knows, there are stacks of Omani warriors waiting on the coast of Arabia to raid any coastal towns the Ghorids take. He may be reluctant to attack another faction, and that would surely cause a stir in the Council if he did.
If immediate victory is impossible containment seems the best option. Once this thing with the Shah is finished, the Ghorids will find themselves completely surrounded by unfriendly powers, Oman will have had time to benefit from the new settlements and build up an army, and I will be free to throw all of my available forces at the Ghorids without fear of an attack from the Shah. Add in reinforcements from our western allies and he won't have a chance. ;D

I'm fine with Van being offered to the Rajputs...
If Ramses doesn't need it, I'll be glad to use it for Armenia's sake...

Not relevant to the ERE peace talks, but to the on-going war against Khwarezm. Armenia has allied the Shah, there by forcing me into a ceasefire and breaking a siege. ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png) I hope this wasn't on purpose, as I have recieved the full support of our Supreme Commander in my war efforts. I will attack them again, and temporarily cancel my alliance with Armenia in order to avoid any more disturbance to my plans. I assure you that it will be re-established after the Shah is defeated (if Tristan is willing of course).
